BREVARD—On Monday, Feb. 15, 2010 once Congressional hopeful Sean Campbell withdrew from the race to challenge Democrat Susan Kosmos in Novembers elections.
Campbell who won a Republican Primary in a 2008 special election to replace state Rep. Bob Allen cited family and professional obligations and said he hoped to remain as involved in politics as his schedule would allow.
“This has been a great experience and I am grateful for all of the support I have received, but the campaign is just not compatible with my life right now,” said Campbell. “I have to focus on my family and business.”
Mr. Campbell offered his support to state Rep. Sandy Adams. Campbell said Adams, who is the front runner in the bid for Florida’s 24thCongressional District, is his choice to face off against the democratic incumbent in November.
“I think she has the experience and leadership that we need to take back this seat in our congress,” said Campbell. “That is our imperative right now: not to just take the seat for a Republican, but to take it back on behalf of the people in this district.”
