Sandy Adams for Congress
February 14, 2010

Sandy Adams yesterday claimed victory in a straw poll sponsored by Tea Party activists at a rally near Orlando City Hall.  State Representative Sandy Adams stirred a crowd of nearly 500 attendees with her consistent message of proven, conservative leadership at the group's Hob Nob.

"I appreciate the concerned citizens braving the cold weather to come out and send a clear message to Washington that their voices will not be silenced, said Adams.  "They are demanding a growing economy, lower taxes, more jobs, less government intrusion, and an immediate stop to runaway spending."

She continued, "I have always been humbled by the trust the citizens of District 33 placed in my service, and I am proud to have fought for them at the state level for the past seven years as their elected representative.  I have always believed that Representative is not a title but a job description. Congress would do well to remember that."

"My voting record is clearly aligned with conservative values, and our campaign message is resonating with voters," said Adams.  "This straw poll victory is truly an honor and I am humbled and grateful for the number of Central Floridians supporting our campaign. I feel very good about our message and our strong grassroots campaign. Everyday we are building momentum towards the ultimate goal of winning back the 24
th
 Congressional District."

This is the second Central Florida straw poll Adams has won since the campaign to unseat Democrat incumbent Suzanne Kosmas began.  Adams also won the Orange County Republican Executive Committee straw poll held in November 2009.

Straw poll results included the following:

Sandy Adams - 30.8%
Karen Diebel - 28.3%
Jim Foster - 10.7%
Deon Long - 8.5%
